About Pauline

Inspirational speaker – Who are you when no-one sees?

In the last 10 years Pauline’s presentations have drawn critical acclaim in  New Zealand and Australia . She has been described as a “speaker who can capture any audience.”

Pauline opens with a 50 minute presentation on, “Who are you when no one sees?” This is followed by 10 minutes of questions.  True stories from her life are the basis of the presentation.  The stories that proved to be the most powerful from her books and from her one Woman theatre play “500 Letters,” are used.

However, the emphasis is on how four people: a neurosurgeon, a writer, a teacher and a severely disabled man, touched not only Pauline’s life but many others as well.

Audiences respond with laughter and tears as they resonate with the true life stories

Feedback from the presentation indicates that individuals find themselves asking the following types of questions:

·         Am I pretending everything is fine?

·         Am I being honest?

·         Why am I doing this work?

·         What is my purpose?

·         Where am I going?

·         Am I holding onto old beliefs that no longer serve me?

·         Do I have a fear of facing up to/ letting go beliefs that no longer serve me?

·         Will I make a conscious decision to become aware of my judgments of others?

·         Am I prepared to become an unobserved observer of my reactive behaviours?

·         What are my habitual thought patterns?

Following the presentation individuals often say they see a need to make positive changes to their attitudes and life-style choices. Feedback suggests that they find themselves thinking a lot about the following questions:

·         How do I create time-out opportunities?

·         Am I comfortable in stillness and silence?

·         How do I discover who I really am?

·         How do I honour my story from childhood until now?

·         What techniques help me keep calm in the midst of turmoil?

Pauline offers practical strategies to rebound from the challenges that overwhelm us at different times in life. After a lifetime’s experience, she demonstrates that it is possible to bounce back when unexpected challenges occur.
Pauline’s insights and stories find application in any sphere of life where opportunities wait to be discovered.

As Pauline recounts her true life stories with humour and humility she explores the universal themes of challenge, change and triumph. She leaves her audiences in no doubt that the hardships of life are often the very opportunities we need to awaken unknown possibilities within ourselves.

Beyond The Veil
At the age of seventeen, Pauline Grogan entered the convent and seven years later took her final vows. At age 29, desecrated and bewildered, she found herself back within the secular world, having to begin her life all over again.  When Penguin Books published Pauline's Autobiography they described her book as:

"The Extraordinary Story of an Ordinary New Zealand Woman - "Touching, inspirational and sometimes shocking it is the tale of survival and the triumph of love and faith in the face of abuse and apparently insurmountable odds".

A View from Within...
is Pauline Grogan's highly anticipated book about the life of James Lynch, a heroic and inspirational person who has touched many peoples lives.

" 'A View from Within' is one of the most inspirational, spiritual memoirs I have ever read. James Lynch was indeed paralysed for most of his life, but in reading about it, I feel I have walked with a luminous spirit - one who, by acceptance of suffering, transcended it." -   Author Robert Waldren, Boston, USA
